Rhebokskloof wine estate hosted the first National XCO race on 25 February. Myself, Philip and Kombo arrived in Cape Town on Thursday morning and made our way to Wellington, the 39deg heat made the current drought in Cape Town prominent to the eye and the track was very dry and loose. Matthys was still deciding whether to do the race, if not he would come through to support and attend the team photoshoot planned for Sunday.
We practised the lines on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning to escape the heat and it was clear that there would be a lot of internationals racing. Below a link to a short video clip on Facebook of the race, please re-share it so more eyes can see and follow what we do :) a big shoutout to Hayden Brown for the great pictures and video content! https://web.facebook.com/africanmtbteam/videos/1243661535680979/ Below some words from the team:

Hi team,
As most of you know we were in Sabie this past weekend for the National Marathon, but also represented in Hilton KZN for the first Provincial XCO race. With news of cyclone Dineo hitting the Mpumalanga province we were geared for heavy rain and expected a lot of mud. While the rain stopped on Friday the course was shortened for the race on Saturday and Sunday cutting out a lot of singletrack. Kombo represented the team at the Provincial XCO.
